Academic Session refers to duration of a semester. In Sqayy, the code for academic session is by year and month. Academic Session is also known as semester term or class duration. User can customize the term Academic Session so system will display the term user wants.

Academic Session Date Range


Below are the conditions that determines whether your date range is approved or rejected by the system:

Subject Add Drop (Optional) Date range is after Registration Day

  • Sample:
    • 6/8/2018 – 7/8/2018
Date range is the same as or before Registration Day

  • Sample:
    • 2/8/2018 – 6/8/2018
Subject Withdraw (Optional Date range is after Subject Add Drop Session

  • Sample:
    • 7/8/2018 – 8/8/2018
Date range is the same as or before Subject Add Drop Session

  • Sample:

Add Drop Acknowledgement (Optional) Date range is after Subject Withdraw Session

Add Academic Session


  1. Find Admissions on the Navigation Bar located on the left side of the screen > Click Admissions
  2. Click Academic Sessions > Click Add New
  3. Enter Code which is in year/month format
  4. Name the academic session in field Name
  5. Select the program offered during the academic session in field Program
  6. In field Academic Session, enter the date range of the academic session
  7. In field Registration Session, enter the registration session. The date range must be within Academic Session’s date range. This is when staff and student can proceed with semester registration
  8. In field Subject Add Drop Session, the date range should be the same as the date range set in Registration Session. This is the date where students and staff can add/drop subjects. Note that this field is not mandatory
  9. In field Subject Withdraw Session, the date range should start when class is conducted. This is the field where students can withdraw their subjects if they change their mind. Note that this field is not mandatory
  10. In field Add Drop Acknowledgement Session, the date range should be after Subject Add/Drop Session. This is the date where students must acknowledge the list subjects after add/drop session. Note that this field is not mandatory
  11. In field Attendance Entry Session, the date range should be after the Add Drop Acknowledgement Session or when the first class for the academic session is conducted. The date range set refers to the days when your lecturers can record attendance
  12. In field Coursework Mark Entry Session, the date range enables lecturers to key in marks for assessments
  13. In field Final Exam Mark Entry Session, the date range enables lecturers to key in marks for final exam. The date range must be after Coursework Mark Entry Session
  14. Click Save

Update Academic Session


  1. Find Admissions on the Navigation Bar located on the left side of the screen > Click Admissions
  2. Click Academic Sessions > Click Update > Update the required fields
  3. Click Save

Delete Academic Session


  1. Find Admissions on the Navigation Bar located on the left side of the screen > Click Admissions
  2. Click Academic Sessions > Click Delete
  3. On delete confirmation prompt, click Delete
